Foresight

Foresight is a continuous activity, process-oriented and information-based. In Central Finland, we use foresight to fuel discussions about the future of the region, support the regional planning and the decision-making.

Our vision is backed by data while regular monitoring, renovation actions and updates of the environmental scenarios structure our future work. Proposals are developed by a broad-based regional group under the coordination of the Regional Council of Central Finland.

The need for foresight is tightly linked to regional future planning. It allows for an agile response to workforce-related needs and challenges, in collaboration with the region’s educational institutions and other key actors.
